Most are aware of this by now, but Elizebeth and I are going through a divorce. This is all very painful and scary, but we’ll make it through.
Since it is impossible for children to not be effected by divorce, I am making my best effort to transition them in the most healthy way possible. At the moment that means understanding what a child goes through during a divorce. I’m reading a couple of good books at the moment. One is called, What About the Kids?: Raising Your Children Before, During, and After Divorce and a 25 year study of the effects of divorce on children and how they differ from intact families.
Please keep praying and sending positive thoughts our way.

For the holidays, we busted out this PartyLite Christmas tree candle holder / music maker. Ava loves it! But it is delicate so I’ve asked her not to touch it. It is currently residing in the kitchen and Ava likes to look at it and ever so gently touch it when we are not looking. I walked into the living room for a minute and when I came back in I knew she had been playing with it. She smiled at me and politely asked me if I wanted to go back into the living room. I thought that was very cute. So I said ok and she proceeded to gently play with it thinking I didn’t know.

Being a dad has many benefits. One is being able to be a nice comfy couch. Nothing quite like having your kids feeling safe and secure in your arms.
