Ava and Audrey both got to meet Grandpa Jeff from the Big Island of Hawaii recently. Everyone had so much fun! Here are some pics:

This evening I promoted Ava to pull up diapers! She’s getting so grown up! :)Â
Lately she’s been pulling her diaper off in the middle of the night. The other day Elizebeth had a morning surprise of a naked Ava with a poopy diaper shoved in the corner with blankets covering it. We had two casualties: Ernie the Elephant and a new bunny.
We’re going to start stepping up the potty training. Should be fun!

Last week I watched the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica, "Downloaded." I was so in awe of the episode I kept thinking about it for a long while. When it was time for me to put Ava down for bed that night I forgot to put on her diaper. My mind was on BSG and the complexities of the show. I’ve never ever forgotten her diaper before (apparent I forgot Audrey’s diaper once in the middle of the night when I was half asleep, but Elizebeth caught it).Â
So as part of our nightly routine, I give Ava a half a cup of soy milk and she drinks it while sitting on my lap in her room. All of a sudden I noticed a warm sensation across my left leg. That’s when it hit me I forgot to put on her diaper. Now I’m paranoid about that diaper being on. I’m actually glad it happened when it did. If she waited to go potty in bed that would be an uncomfortable night for her and a lot of clean up for us.
